Feel the exhilaration of playing more than
7,200 yards on this par-72 John Sanford designed course.
Our 7,239-yard, par-72 course at Juliette
Falls has a rolling park-like design highlighted by four waterfalls; pine,
oak, and palmetto forests; and flowering landscaping. It all creates a
tapestry of visual richness.
You'll find 25 acres of cocina waste areas
throughout the course filled with crushed pinkish cocina shells. These are
places where you can ground your club, and they're very playable. We used
lustrous white sand in our formal bunkers.
Drainage is excellent here throughout the
course. There are extra drains in bunkers to prevent them from washing out.
We have no wetland or clay issues either. You will be able to go back out
and play right away after a sudden storm.
You'll find some forced carries on our
course, but they have been reduced greatly or even eliminated for the high
handicap players. The emphasis on strategy here makes this an enjoyable
place to play for everyone. We have five sets of tee boxes so that each
player can find the right distance.
You'll find one of those spectacular
waterfall features on No. 7 on a hole we like to call "Oasis." This par-3,
214 yards from the back tees and 143 yards from the front, is landscaped
with tropical plants and native grasses. It's not quite an island, but it
does lie adjacent to water. From the back tees, there's a forced carry, but
from the forward tees there's no water to cross.
One of our most picturesque holes is the
8th, a par-4 that plays at 446 yards from the back tees and 326 from the
front. The hole has been cut into the remains of a cavern that was part of a
phosphate mine, so the landscape is dramatic. A number of mature live oaks
surround the area where the green sits. From the top of the trees down to
the green it's about 70 to 80 feet. Azaleas and native grasses serve as a
backdrop.
One of the most notable stretches of holes
is from the 12th through the 14th.
The 455-yard par-4 on No. 12 passes over a
number of ravines. The area is surrounded by live oaks. The green has both a
false front and false back that means some players may be chipping up to the
green. As you play a hole like this, you'll particularly notice that both
our chipping areas and greens are planted in Jones Original Tifdwarf, making
for a tight and highly manicured surface.
The 13th is a 189-yard par-3 with water
and a waterfall in back of the green. In front of the green is a very large
mountain rock, fieldstone brought in from Alabama to help set a picturesque
scene here. In fact, Alabama fieldstone was used throughout the course to
front the ponds.

The 14th, a 595-yard par-5 has a plateau
fairway with three direction changes. It almost forms an S-shape. This
fairway also has a Hilton Head Island style to it because of the many live
oaks.
Our finishing hole is a very strong par-4,
measuring 468 yards from the back tees. It's a downhill drive from the tee
boxes which are 40 feet above the green level. But it's a narrow driving
area with oaks to the left and wetlands on the right. It will take two very
challenging shots to reach the green where you'll find a water feature on
the right hand side.
