This 18-hole championship course has wide, oak and pine tree-lined
fairways and large undulating greens guarded by 51 sand traps. LakeSide
Country Club has four holes playing around an abandoned phosphate mine with
long par-fives and numerous doglegs making it an unusual layout not typical
of most Florida courses.
Imagine the traditions of a great
country club only fifteen minutes from the heart of downtown, but a place
where deer, coyotes, hawks and owls still call home. Opened in 1971, Silver
Springs Golf & Country Club is a true testament of how the environment and
development can co-exist in peaceful harmony.
Silver Springs prides itself in its
championship par 72 golf course. Designed originally by Colorado course
architect, Dick Phelps, the course winds itself through the coulees and
plateaus of northwest Calgary and presents the player with a wide diversity
of terrain and elevation changes. With four sets of tees ranging in yardage
from 5500 to 7000 yards, golfers of all skill levels will find the course a
challenge.
The layout and rolling terrain of the course is reminiscent of North
Carolina courses. Although the course is not extremely tight, allowing you
to swing away, an errant shot may be caught among century old oak trees
lining each picturesque fairway. Several holes have sharp doglegs
approaching elevated greens which require precise iron play. Four sets of
tees allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy this course.
Miona Lake Golf Club boasts of Par 72,
6488 yards of Blue Tees,6095 yards of White Tees and 5291 yards of Red Tees.
This flat golf course has six holes with water. The greens are tiny and rise
above the fairways. There is a lot of sand. The course is not hard and will
deliver an enjoyable round.
